Rian Johnson's Knives Out is the perfect movie for Thanksgiving. Not only does it offer a great escape from your real family, but it satirizes everyone else's outstanding performance from its cast. Johnson has assembled one of the best casts, if not the best, of the whole year.
In the mysterious crime-drama Knives Out, described by Johnson as “an original, modern day American whodunnit,” esteemed English actor Daniel Craig stars as the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc who is mysteriously enlisted to investigate the death of renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) at Thrombey’s estate shortly after his 85th birthday.
Directed by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), who has stepped away from the new Star Wars trilogy he’s developing, Knives Out came together last year and quickly attracted the attention of some of the biggest names in the industry, rendering a profoundly star-studded cast ranging from Hollywood veteran Christopher Plummer to up-and-coming actors such as Jaeden Martell (IT, IT Chapter Two). The remaining ensemble is comprised of movie icons Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, and many more.
