Coming to Regal this Friday, January 24th, is a true story from the battlefields of the Vietnam War—The Last Full Measure—starring a star-studded cast including Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurth, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, and Peter Fonda in his final role.
We all love a good story, especially one that is true, and when seeking true stories of bravery and heroism, we often turn to the world’s greatest battlefields and most devastating conflicts. Lasting 19 years (1955-1975) and leaving millions dead, the Vietnam War is one of the longest, most divisive conflicts in our history. The worst of mankind often reveals itself in the death and destruction of war, but, if we look closely, we can also find shining examples of the best of mankind, examples that provide inspiration and hope for the future. The latest movie from Roadside Attractions, The Last Full Measure, turns the spotlight to one such example, that of Vietnam War hero William Pitsenbarger, a U.S. Air Force Pararescue medic who, when faced with the chance to escape one of the bloodiest battles of the war, chooses instead to stay behind and saves nearly 60 lives before making the ultimate sacrifice.
