With the diverse forms of media that exist today, many of our favorite characters and titles have crossed over from their original sources into new forms that offer exciting possibilities. This process dates back many years to stage plays adopting from novels and short stories with all forms eventually feeding into the movie industry. Since the rise of arcade games and gaming consoles in the 1970s and 1980s, video games have enjoyed one of the most enduring relationships with movies, providing popular, mainstream characters and stories to be adapted for the silver screen.
Jumanji: The Special Abilities Of Every Game Character In The Next Level
The latest video game adaptation to hit theatres is Sonic the Hedgehog, a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The movie follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The movie also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
