
Outstanding Picture, Outstanding Production, Best Motion Picture—the Academy Award® for Best Picture has gone by many names since its inaugural presentation in 1929, but no matter what you call it, this prestigious honor remains the pennacle of achivement in the film industry. The award is the only category in which every member of the Academy is eligible to submit a nomination and vote on the final ballot.
