Regal Poll—Most Anticipated Movies of 2020

This predominantly black-and-white image features the Hollywood Hills with 2020 in the place of the Hollywood sign and "MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIES" written in white along the bottom left. The sky displays a hint of blue and orange with stars scattered throughout and three images superimposed over top: (left to right) James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) aiming a machine gun from No Time to Die (2020), Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) crossing her arms in full armor from Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), and an illustrated image for Black Widow (2020) featuring Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) staring straight ahead

Female heroines top the charts of Regal fans’ most anticipated movies of 2020, according to a recent poll on our Twitter account, @RegalMovies. The poll, separated into two posts, surveyed more than 14,000 fans on which movies they were most looking forward to seeing in the new year. Movie fans across all genres have no shortage of dates to circle on their calendars in 2020, a year that will see Gal Gadot don the lasso and bracelets once again for her sophomore outing as the Amazonian Princess from Themyscira in Wonder Woman 1984, Daniel Craig make his final appearance as the iconic secret agent James Bond in No Time to Die, and acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan gift us with what is shaping up to be another mind-blowing action epic in Tenet.

2020 Movie Guide

The superhero genre claims the top two spots on the list, which is hardly a surprise considering the droves of fans that turned up for last year's Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the record-smashing Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios continues beefing up their reputation for action blockbusters as their first movie in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Widow, takes the number one spot on the list of most anticipated movies in 2020. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow as she returns to her roots and faces her past in a quest that takes place between the movies Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Wonder Woman 1984 transports us back to the decade of excess as Diana Prince faces new foes. To the surprise of many fans, she will be joined once again by her co-star Chris Pine, who returns as Steve Trevor.

The Best Superhero Movie Performances Of The Decade

The 25th installment in the revered James Bond franchise, No Time to Die, hits theatres this spring, a new release time for the franchise that has debuted its last five movies in November. Cary Joji Fukunaga becomes the first American director in the storied history of Eon Productions’ James Bond while Craig’s co-star Lashana Lynch becomes the first woman to hold the 007 title upon Bond’s retirement from active service. In addition to capping off Craig’s stellar performance as Bond, No Time to Die looks to wrap up the storylines that have permeated his five-movie run, beginning with Casino Royale (2006).

The new year will see the reprisal of another iconic movie hero, Dominic Toretto, when Vin Diesel returns to the role along with his ever-growing family in the 9th installment in the adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious franchise, one that continues to push the limits and outdo itself with each new chapter. Rounding out the list alongside Fast & Furious 9 is Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s return in Bad Boys For Life and Christopher Nolan’s epic action/thriller, Tenet.
