Bruce Campbell playfully teases a potential Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cameo. The second solo MCU project centered on Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange has been filming since the end of last year, though it briefly paused due to the coronavirus pandemic. This time around, Sam Raimi will direct the project, taking over for Doctor Strange's Scott Derrickson. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but it will dive into the multiverse in a big way and will feature a role for Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch.

Additional cast members confirmed for Doctor Strange 2 include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, and MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez. Beyond them, there are several people rumored to be included in the project, including Campbell. The Evil Dead actor has a history of working with Raimi, and when Raimi was tapped as director for Doctor Strange 2, Campbell indicated he'd be interested in a role. Then, last week, Campbell revealed he was in London, the location of the movie's production. Nothing has been confirmed, but speculation has run rampant.

Now it looks like Campbell is getting in on the fun himself, sharing a purposely evasive message on social media. While sharing a picture of the London skyline at sunset, Campbell wrote:

"Boy, it was a blast, working in a certain city, with a certain director on a certain movie with a certain actor - it sure was!"

It's not the most specific post in the world, but when one factors in the Doctor Strange 2 rumors, it seems like he could be referring to the MCU movie. After all, Marvel is notoriously careful about spoilers and might not even let him say anything for the time being.

If Campbell has already finished filming his Doctor Strange 2 scenes, it seems likely he just has a cameo. This would fit in with his past experiences in the Marvel universe, as Campbell cameoed in all of Raimi's Spider-Man films. Provided Campbell actually was working on Doctor Strange 2, his presence will surely be met with excitement from fans. At the same time, there were some who were interested in seeing him take on the villain role, but that doesn't seem to be happening this time around.

Doctor Strange 2 is currently slated for release in late March 2022, and with several MCU movies scheduled for before then, it will likely be a while before more concrete information about the project is revealed. The upcoming season finale of WandaVision might provide some major clues about where the sequel is headed due to Scarlet Witch's role in the film. As for Campbell's potential Doctor Strange 2 role, fans might have to wait and see if he pops up when it comes time to watch the movie next year.
