The IT Department is seeking an interested candidate to join their corporate office team. This position is based at the corporate office in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This is a temporary assignment. The assignment will start in March 2009 and could be needed as long as 10 months.
Days: Wednesday - Sunday (off Monday and Tuesday)
Hours: 8:30am – 12:30pm
Summary: This position is responsible for successfully maintaining and supporting Regal’s Backup process and tape management process and successful inventory and delivery to Iron Mountain. Candidate must possess the ability to work independently and stay on task without copious amounts of oversight.
The Tape Backup Operator is a temporary/part-time position and is primarily responsible for:
• Perform all operational functions required to successfully backup Regal data on a 7 day per week basis.
• Operate the tape backup process successfully
• Escalate failure situations to designated staff and participate in corrective actions
• Ability to follow direction to address backup server console issues ultimately attaining the ability to perform incipient response
• Document any deviations from set backup procedure or tape management procedure
• Support Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities as directed.
• Consistently meet project/task deadlines
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Ability to follow direct orders from superiors within a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to utilize SAN for Disk to Disk backup process
• Ability to perform Level 1 response on Wintel Systems
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications are as follows:
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or higher certification and CompTIA A+ certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure support and working in Data Centers
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent IT systems experience
• Must be organized and capable of following directives from superiors in a structured environment while requiring minimal day-to-day guidance
• Experience with any of the following technologies is desired:
o Windows 2000 or 2003 server – various hardware vendors
o Veritas NetBackup 6.X or higher
o Tape Libraries – various vendors
o Storage Area Networks
• Experience is preferred in Theatre Information Technology
• Former Project Management experience is a plus
• Experience in process oriented environment, incident management, process and change management within ITIL framework desired but not mandatory
• Willingness to handle mundane tasks as requested
• Able to work weekends
• Flexibility in work schedule
• Interpersonal and communications skills must be adequate to effectively communicate with the Server Operations department
• Must be a team player and excellent collaborator
• Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds
