Systems Analyst III

The IT Department (Applications Development & Support) is seeking an interested candidate to join their corporate office team. This position is based at the corporate office in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Summary: Reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and documents business systems and user requirements to ensure Information Technology department alignment with overall business objectives. Responsible for all aspects of support and maintenance for assigned systems including software applications and data processing functions to support business needs. Responsible for application system administration and support including occasional off-hours on-call support. Requires moderate software development skills for systems integration, small scale data processing tasks, minor system enhancements, unit testing, functional testing, miscellaneous scripting, and bug fixes. Develops detailed documentation of user requirements, system functionality, and processes or procedures needed to design, modify, or maintain computer systems.

The Systems Analyst III is an exempt position and is primarily responsible for:

• Defining, publishing, and analyzing the results of RFP’s.
• Accurately tracking and estimating costs in terms of time and materials for small to medium sized IT projects.
• Providing staff and users with assistance solving system problems such as application and data processing malfunctions. Requires occasional after-hours, on-call support duties.
• Testing, installing, maintaining, and monitoring computer applications and systems.
• Using object-oriented programming languages along with client/server application development processes and Internet technologies to solve business problems.
• Working with users to understand and document the nature of the information processing or computation needs that a computer system is designed to solve.
• Integrating various, sometimes disparate, computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and maximize sharing of information.
• Consulting with management teams to ensure agreement on system design principles.
• Configuring, expanding, or modifying systems to respond to new business needs or improve work flow.
• Creating and maintaining application documentations including, but not limited to, technical, end-user, FAQ, change/configuration management, disaster recovery, and functional requirements.
• Interviewing or surveying workers and observing or performing job duties to determine what and how information is normally processed. Documenting and describing alternative automated processes to improve efficiency or accuracy.
• Determine what computer software or hardware components are needed to set up or alter a new or existing system.
• Training staff and users to work with computer systems and applications on an as needed basis.
• Developing and delivering presentations to peer groups and upper level managers.

Qualifications are as follows:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent IT systems experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems development or support role.
• Proven track record developing and supporting effective business systems.
• Knowledge of modern programming languages including C# and Java.
• Knowledge of scripting tools and languages used to automate repetitive tasks.
• General relational database management systems experience, preferably with using Microsoft SQL Server and MySql Technologies.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Experience working within a defined systems development lifecycle.
• Experience working with SOAP web services.
• Knowledge of and experience with multi-tier applications in a distributed network environment.
• Knowledge of and experience with networking concepts as they relate to multi-tier application design, development and support.
• Delphi experience is a plus.
• Experience is preferred in Theatre Information Technology.
• Interpersonal and communications skills must be adequate to effectively communicate with team and group members, other IT groups, and users.
• Must be able to work closely with other business units or vendors in a positive, professional manner.
• Must be able to work well either independently or within a structured team environment.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
