Marketing & PR Coordinator

The Marketing Department is seeking an interested candidate to join their corporate office team. This position is based at the corporate office in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Summary:
Assist Director of Marketing & Communications with various marketing, public relations and administrative duties.  Coordinate various activities related to corporate communication and public relations including writing and distribution of press releases. Publish regular reports of all media coverage related to Regal, our markets, industry and competitors.  Assist Director of Marketing & Communications, VP and all Regional Marketing Managers with execution of marketing, advertising, public relations, promotions, charitable events and community affairs as directed.

The Marketing & PR Coordinator is a non-exempt (hourly) position and is primarily responsible for: 

    • Regular and consistent attendance.
    • Produce press releases for multiple corporate communication goals.
    • Gather and analyze news coverage related to Regal and our business interests.
    • Maintain accurate databases and calendars for corporate communications.
    • Generate interest among members of the media for projects which will benefit from public recognition and publicity.
    • Facilitate communication with reporters and distribution of materials to the press; including communication with Spanish language media.
    • Maintain press contact information for Regal markets.
    • Assist in execution of marketing, advertising, public relations, promotions, charitable events and community affairs as directed.
    • Maintain accurate databases for invoice processing and budgeting.
    • Utilize and analyze media research and trends to develop strategies.
    • Accept new challenges and directions from many sources including requests from multiple staff members, prioritizing work, simultaneously handling multiple projects and maintaining communication regarding the progress of each project.
    • Required to travel on short notices for PR initiatives.
    • Assist with production and shipping of marketing materials.
    • Assist VP and Director of Marketing & Communications with additional projects as directed.

    Qualifications are as follows:

    • Formal education equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or 4 years experience in journalism or public relations required.
    • Must be a professional writer and excellent verbal communicator.
    • Skills include writing, time management, research, event planning, budgeting, cold-calling and public speaking.
    • Spanish language proficiency required.
    • Communicate appropriate and professional responses to members of the media, at times under stressful and adverse conditions.
    • Interface and negotiate effectively with the public, superiors and co-workers.
    • Resolve conflict and negotiate solutions either verbally or written for the most positive outcome for the company at times using your own judgment to execute such actions independently.
    • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Perform calculations with speed and accuracy while identifying and correcting errors.
    • Develop budgets to meet marketing goals while most efficiently utilizing dollars.
    • Manage payment schedules and staying within tight budget guidelines.
    • Perform under pressure and/or opposition at times relying on your own independent judgment and knowledge to decide the best directions and solutions.
    • Determine answers to questions and situations which may be socially or politically volatile, while representing the company.
    • Identify problems, gather relevant data, determine and note possible causes of problems.
    • Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, and determine conclusions based on evidence.
    • Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives.
    • Proven experience  with PC platforms and knowledge of the following computer programs:  Windows Operating Systems; Internet Explorer; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point); and E-mail programs.
    • Operate copiers and other office equipment, type accurate copy from drafts, devise and access different filing systems, and maintain attention to detail.
    • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
